RehearsalS & Concerts
Dear Symphony Parnassus Musicians,
Welcome back! Rehearsals for the 2026-27 concert season begin on Monday, September 28 from 7:30 - 10 p.m. at our new rehearsal venue, Little Mission Studio located at 445 Hampshire Street in San Francisco.
Your participation in rehearsals and concerts is highly valued and vital to the success of the orchestra. To ensure that our limited rehearsal time is used effectively, please read our Attendance Policy and Rehearsal Schedule.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
We request that all orchestra members strive to attend every rehearsal. Consistent attendance will improve the rehearsal process and benefit the entire orchestra. However, we understand and respect that you may at times have conflicting obligations.
We kindly ask for your adherence to the following guidelines:
No more than two absences per concert, preferably early in the set. Excessive absences may lead to a discussion with the music director as to whether it would be appropriate for you to sit out until the next concert set.
Dress rehearsals are required and can only be missed with the express permission of the music director at least one week in advance.
If you must miss a rehearsal, please notify your section leader and/or the orchestra manager <orchestramanager@symphonyparnassus.org> as early as possible, but please give at least 24 hours advance notice.
When appropriate, please help us engage a substitute player for your part.
We appreciate your commitment to Symphony Parnassus and look forward to a great season together!

Rehearsal Location
Unless otherwise noted, weeknight rehearsal take place at Little Mission Studio (445 Hampshire Street in the Mission District). Use code 1823 for the main building entrance door. Rehearsal is in the New Hall (largest space with the roll-up door). When you enter the building, step down the 3 steps and continue forward. At the end of the hall turn right, continue through a small waiting area, then enter the frosted glass door. Please help isolate sound by keeping that door closed.
Chairs and Stands
At LMS, chairs and stands are usually available in the rehearsal hall. We do request that musicians help set up before rehearsal and clean up after.
Occasionally we may ask for volunteers to bring stands to rehearsals if we are using an alternate rehearsal venue. We do our best to notify musicians in advance.
Parking
Little Mission Studio: There is usually limited parking available on Hampshire street or the surrounding streets.
